Radio / control room

Sound insulation and interior acoustics for live radio and control rooms. Designed for clean mic capture, monitor accuracy and broadcast quality.

TL;DR

Radio and control room acoustics is designed for live radio studios, podcast production rooms and TV control rooms. Microphone capture quality, monitor speaker accuracy and outside-noise rejection are addressed together. Rw 50+ dB sound insulation and RT60 0.3-0.4 s interior acoustic is the standard combination.

What is radio / control room acoustics?

Radio and control rooms are specialised spaces for live or recorded broadcast where audio quality must reach professional standards. Microphone capture, monitor speaker accuracy, headphone monitoring and outside-noise rejection are designed together.

Radio studio build-up

  1. Floating screed: structural vibration control to the floor below
  2. Independent double-leaf wall: Rw 55+ dB
  3. Vibroacoustically suspended ceiling
  4. Acoustic door (Rw 38+ dB)
  5. Acoustic window: control-to-studio sightline
  6. Interior absorbent panels: for RT60 0.3-0.4 s
  7. Diffuser panels: for late-reflection control
  8. Bass traps (corners): 50-150 Hz absorbers

Control-room specific criteria

The operator's monitor speaker sound must accurately represent the broadcast. The interior is therefore designed using LEDE or non-environment approaches:

  • Front wall absorber behind the speakers
  • Side wall early-reflection control
  • Rear wall diffuser + absorber combination
  • Cloud panels in the ceiling
  • Symmetrical operator position

HVAC and equipment noise

HVAC noise must not enter the microphone in radio/control rooms. Duct silencers are used; diffuser counts are kept low. Equipment racks are placed in a separate room because cooling-fan noise would degrade the broadcast.

Target performance

  • Sound insulation Rw: 50-60 dB
  • RT60: 0.3-0.4 seconds
  • NC: 20-25 (very quiet)
  • Low-frequency bass control ✓

Time and cost

A radio studio / control room takes 4-8 weeks. In professional broadcast studios acoustic design accounts for 30-50% of the equipment-and-fit-out budget.

Frequently Asked Questions

Radio room / control room — which materials do you use?
Depending on project requirements, we use acoustic foam, barrier-backed foam, lead/EPDM barrier, elastomeric rubber, rock wool and double-layer plasterboard systems. All our materials carry international fire-resistance certifications.
How much noise reduction do I get after the application?
It varies according to the existing structure, the adjacent noise level and the target use. Typical residential applications achieve 25-40 dB and industrial projects 35-55 dB. The exact value is confirmed by acoustic measurement.
Do I need to move my existing furniture?
It is enough to clear sufficient space so we can work in the application area. Our installation team takes protective measures for furniture; for small applications minimal rearrangement is sufficient.
How can I request a quote?
You can reach us by phone (+90 530 044 09 90), WhatsApp or our contact form. After a brief conversation we schedule an on-site survey.
