Control-room specific criteria
The operator's monitor speaker sound must accurately represent the broadcast. The interior is therefore designed using LEDE or non-environment approaches:
- Front wall absorber behind the speakers
- Side wall early-reflection control
- Rear wall diffuser + absorber combination
- Cloud panels in the ceiling
- Symmetrical operator position
HVAC and equipment noise
HVAC noise must not enter the microphone in radio/control rooms. Duct silencers are used; diffuser counts are kept low. Equipment racks are placed in a separate room because cooling-fan noise would degrade the broadcast.
